Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up Like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore-- And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode?
This one I know by heart and I just love it. Its deep on so many levels for me. I always think about this poem and usually say it to myself when there are several options to choose or any major decision that has to be made. This poem has made me to question things. What's going to happen if I do this or that. ?
