Well, I went to the screening of Liberia:America's Step Child, and I hope the new army will be different from the old one altogether. Plus, our troubles though we think is of our own making, when you see the documentary and the leaders we have had, from Tubman to Taylor and you hear what the Casper Weinberger and others had to say during those years, you would want to find them and do them in, TODAY...

i think it is different. had the opportunity to talk to some of the soldiers..driving from monrovia to careysburg. they sound professional and committed; and focused on correcting the present impression liberians have of the military. as much as i hate the army, i felt proud that such change is occuring in young people's lives. smile_approve

As a former soldier myself, I always thought the Liberian authorities never did enough to instill those important "soldiering" values in new recruits and you never saw them exhibited in officers. When I look at these pics I can see and almost feel the pride. I just hope it continues. Frankly, I attribute much of that to the new leadership at the ministry of defense.

i always wondered abt all the hype about the army but what i saw with my two eyes...i swear, if they train about 10K, it will be great.

the ministry of defense and the trainers from dyncorps...one of the soldiers kept asking me-why do u respond to everything-talk talk talk...then i knew something had happened-discipline, self-control, maturity. hmmm...let them do something so our soldiers stop 'building up' on human flesh yah. th_Libflag
