| NEKTAA To Give 25 Scholarships  Mr. Emmanuel Nimely Togba
The New Kru Town Association in the Americas (NEKTAA) has announced that it will grant about 25 scholarships to deserving students of the Borough of New Kru Town to pursue higher education.According to the President of NEKTAA, Mr. Emmanuel Nimely Togba who is currently visiting the country, the association which was revamped in 2007 also intends to put up a Resource Center in September of this year at the D.Tweh High School for the use of students and other researchers residing in the Borough of New Kru Town. “The resource center will be in the form of a major computer Lab,” he added.Mr. Togba told the INQUIRER that he is also in the country to introduce and create some awareness relative to the activities of the organization with people residing in New Kru Town.
He said the NEKTAA intends to erect billboards at the entry points of the Borough of New Kru Town, namely Caldwell junction, Bong Mines Bridge and St. Paul Bridge.Mr. Togba who is also the National Treasurer of the Union of Liberian Association in the Americas (ULAA) said sometime ago the people of New Kru Town made a formal request to the organization and such request is being worked on. The NEKTAA usually holds its annual reunion in the United States in August of every year since the association was revamped in 2007.Its current officials include Mr. Emmanuel Nimely Togba, President, Mr. Jasckson Teegbe Seton; Vice President, Mr. Isaac Settro; Secretary General, Mr. James Koiyan; Financial Secretary, Decontee Brown; Treasurer and Cecelia Fukah; Chaplain.The Association's board is composed of K. Adventus Karpeh; Chairman, Mrs. Theresa Geegbe; Co Chairperson, Arthur Weah Doe; Secretary, while Alfred Nimely and Calvin Dweye are members. |
