| Jill Scott apparently has reason to celebrate more than her new HBO series these days. The singer-turned-actress is pregnant with her first child, according to an Internet report. Jawn Murray of AOL Black Voices reports that Jill is carrying fiancé Lil’ John Roberts’ child. Jill announced her engagement to the drummer last June. Jill’s rep neither confirmed nor denied the report. She’s currently in Botswana filming 13 episodes of her new HBO series, “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” which debuts in March with the two-hour movie she made last year. I’m going to assume the report is true since a link to Jawn’s article in on Jill’s website and I can’t think of one celeb that would link to an erroneous report. So congrats Jill! In an ESSENCE interview with Terry McMillan last year Jill said, "I would love to have a baby and I’d love for the man who helped me conceive that child to be holding my hand when I give birth. I would love that." It may not seem like Jill, 36, waited that long before her first marriage ended but time doesn’t dictate anything. She dated Lyzell Williams for seven years before marrying him and that union lasted six years before ending in divorce in 2007. Her new boo, also 36, grew up in Phily just like she did and calls Jermaine Dupri one of his good friends. He just came off Janet Jackson’s “Rock Witchu” tour and traveled with the icon on her 1994 tour as well. What a coincidence that Jill and Janet starred in Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?” Jill has the name “John” tattooed behind her left ear and he has the name “Jill” tattooed behind his right. How cute!

Man when her CD "Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds, Vol. 1" came out, that was my nation anthem...actually this is one of my cd that stays in rotation. I love this cd
