UNMIL Releases Bi-Annual Human Rights Report on Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – The UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) today released its Bi-annual Report on the human rights situation in Liberia. The report covers major human rights issues monitored by UNMIL Human Rights and Protection Section (HRPS), a release issued to The Liberian Journal has said. The release noted that the report highlighted the prevailing human rights concerns in the country, including measures being instituted to address them---challenges being faced in the criminal justice system including the courts and the Liberia National Police, delay in making operational the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR), and the prevalence of rape and other gender-based violence incidents.
