“Dissolution?”: Countering Kofi Woods’ Rhetoric with Reason (Commentary)
By: Jackie Sayegh
I read with interest the news piece in which Minister Kofi Woods called for the dissolution of the Liberian state. One definition of dissolution is the “destruction of anything by the separation of its parts; a state of ruin.” So Minister Kofi Woods would have us “separate” the parts of government, which in the end will bring “ruin” to the country. Since he has called for the dissolution of the Liberian nation, stating that our nation needs to be “re-conceptualized”, surely it is his duty as part of the government to help create this ”new” nation? Mr. Woods always had the gift of gab, at times making statements to stir things up just to see if he could. The present is no exception.
