Africans and African-Americans over the weekend concluded a one-day Conversation and Reconciliation event in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The gathering, held on Saturday November 22, 2008 under the auspices of Hennepin County in partnership with the Minnesota National Association of Black Social Workers and the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, provoked an eight-hour long dialogue focused on exploring some of the myths and stereotypes that have often pitted Africans against African-Americans across the United States.
