JClifden has a point

It's good to take a step back and look at things in perspective

Remember to God above 1000 years is like 1 day

Still we should pray for guidance, growth, and improvement no matter what the circumstances

If thats the case.......Suffering didnt start 8 years ago......Genocide in Rwanda, Jewish Holocaust...Darfur....Famine in Ethiopia ...civil war in Liberia....the crusade....Palestinian conflict....so on and so on...........

And ever since I can remember the African continent has been suffering....From slavery to colonialism to neocolonialism .... a continent where abundance and surplus in resources have only led to deprivation misery and death......

people suffering is not a new phenomenon ...its new to pockets of western world.....

If suffering is only equated with pockets and banks accounts then I respectfully acquiesce. But the biblical description of signs of the time include a much greater scope. Dissension among family, physicality calamity, war and the threat thereof.

There are some societies that exist in bliss with much lower levels of consumption and financial accumim. Suffering is not a part of their vocabulary or state of mind. I suspect that not every portion of the continent of Africa would include themselves among the numbers of those who have been suffering since the beginning of their respective existences.

Name one single country in Africa where suffering is exempt

Once again the initial question or supposition posed was not about suffering but the evidence of signs of the time of the last days.
What are you quantifying as Suffering?

Here are some indicators used by The International Human Suffering Index

The indicators of living conditions include life expectancy, daily
calorie supply, clean drinking water, infant immunization, secondary
school enrollment, per capita gross national product, the rate of
inflation, communications technology (number of telephones/1000
people), political freedom, and civil rights.

Tunisia has been ranked the Global Peace Index as the most peaceful country in Africa and 39th in the world.

Malawi ranks as number 68 in the world and 10th in Africa in terms of peaceful existence. They were ranked that during their one party system. It has only been in the last ten years under democratic rule that tensions have evolved.

Seychelles and Mauritania are ranked by the International Human Suffering Index as the suffering the least.

Exactly. Its all highly relative. Everybody has their own levels of suffering relative to what is considered as suffering.

Places have Money yet the people suffer

Places have Freedom yet the people suffer

places have Peace yet the people suffer.

Malawi is ranked among the most peaceful African countries but it is
ranked just under Liberia at number 5 among the poorest African nations.

  1. Burundi ... $90
  2. Ethiopia ... $110
  3. Democratic Republic of Congo ... $110
  4. Liberia ... $110
  5. Malawi ... $160
  6. Guinea-Bissau ... $160
  7. Eritrea ... $190
  8. Niger ... $210
  9. Sierra Leone ... $210
  10. Rwanda ... $210

Based on World Bank Development Indicators published in July 2006,
here
are the 10 poorest countries in the world. GNP per capita for each
country is shown in US dollars.

My Dear Nica Please ...Dont bore me with stats....My only point was that there's no revolutionary differences between caveman suffering and modern man suffering

My Dear Nica Please ...Dont bore me with stats....My only point was that there's no revolutionary differences between caveman suffering and modern man suffering that would indicate the end is near....as far as I know most of our suffering has been self inflicted man made pain....
