Former ULAA Official George Wuo Refutes Corruption Allegation in Liberia

(Monrovia-Liberia-Oct. 29, 08)- Nimba County Education Officer, George S. Wuo, has described as false and misleading allegation that he is involved in corruption. A local Liberian daily News newspaper, based in Monrovia, recently reported that Mr. Wuo was forcibly requesting teachers in the county to surrender L$400 each from their salaries every month. The paper also reported that the Ministry of Education’s County Education Officer was engaged in an illegal act in Zoe-Geh District, Nimba County. Quoting sources in the county, the paper further reported that Mr. Wuo has threatened to demote or dismiss any principal or teacher who refused to comply with his decision to surrender the L$400 from his or her salary.
