I want to believe that the main problems with those who are involved in that act are lazy and dirty. I remember seeing trash drums at each intersection in Monrovia and one of them as I can record had poop in it and dirt was everywhere around it. They do not have strength to put the dirt in the drum but are capable of putting poop into it. They are helping to make the city dirty and still complain about it being filthy. I sometimes ask myself; what is the importance of the city police? Because you usually see them around the market ground collecting money from business men and women and not functioning in helping to keep the city clean.

So when trash is picked up, where is it taken to? Are there decent trash landfills near the city?

And, how often is the trash picked up? could it be that what's around the dumpster is an overflow? |

I can remembered that when i was home the trash will just pile and the city dumb truck will not come to get it thereby leaving the city dirty. Another thing is that the city government needs to enforce the penalty for littering. I admire the oldlady who was cleaning after herself like CG indicated...We need to do more.

Something I have seen here and do believe it helps greatly to manage waste deposit.. and that is the use of garbage bag. By using a garbage bag, can protect the garages from spilling over and from bad smell. The corporation (MCC) responsible for waste collection in Liberia should introduce this and make garbage bags available and accessible for all and mandates all garages coming to the garages site be in bags

Do they still have those public service announcements like they did in the late eighties? back then, there was the population growth performance by Liberian Artists, then Flomo had several psa's...I think he made popular the phrase - Hold your nose and pass... How does the govt educate nowadays?????
