Dulee Completes Tel Aviv Switch


Dulee Johnson has officially signed a three-year contract with Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Johnson arrived at the Ben-Gurion International Airport in Israel on Tuesday morning and the signing ceremony took place in the evening. He joined the team's training sessions on Wednesday.
"I'm happy with my decision and I respect it. I hope to give out my very best to move Maccabi Tel Aviv forward. It's a good team and a big club too. This is a new chapter in my professional career," an upbeat Dulee told his website.
He added: "Everybody wants to move forward in life. I have begun a new journey and I pray to God to guide my steps and way. I thank God for this."
The ace Liberian international is currently familiarizing himself with the club structures before returning to Sweden soon. Fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv are happy with Dulee's arrival and hope the talented player will help the club top the league in the next season.
Johnson, once adjudged the Best Defensive/Offensive midfielder in Sweden, said wearing the blue and yellow colours of Maccabi Tel Aviv would be one of his happiest moments in life.
"I see it as a promotion in my career and I'm ready to perform," he asserted.
AIK
Dulee was grateful to the management of AIK for their assistance and cooperation throughout this turning moments of his career.
"AIK has made me what I am today. Everything has not been perfect but I can't write my life history without them. I'm still free with everybody and everyone is fine with me. I sincerely believe I did my best for them. It is just unfortunate that in life sometimes one must move on," Johnson, 24, said sadly.
"I'll miss AIK. I still believe they can top the league."
Israeli newspaper – Haaretz – reported that with Johnson's signing, Maccabi's budget will rise to over NIS 70 million, making it the second highest-paid club after Israeli champions Beitar Jerusalem.
Laurels
The Liberian international has spent most of his professional career in Sweden and has made a name for himself. Once he was named "the hottest African Player in Sweden" by Sweden's influential newspaper - Expressen. Also, his dazzling performance attracted a panel of Swedish Coaches to adjudge him the "Best Defensive/Offensive Midfielder." He has maintained a fine form in the ongoing Swedish Allsvenskan League and he is among the few who have played almost all league matches for AIK.
As a gifted midfielder he has a goal to his credit and has earned for himself "Man of the Match" titles on two occasions this season.
