Lone Star striker Francis Grandpa Doe has announced the misplacement of his passport by a member of the technical staff.
Francis Doe told Star Radio he stands the risk of loosing his contract if he does not get the passport.
Doe said he was frustrated about the situation and do not know hat to do and said DC United could not guarantee him getting a new visa at their expense.
The passport is carrying the player’s American Visa, European visa as well as resident permit.
Doe’s passport was reportedly left behind after he did not make the trip to Algeria.
The striker accused some football authorities of not showing interest in him getting an American visa.
“They promised to settle the matter right after the Senegal game but up to today (Wednesday) they have said noting to me”, Doe said.
The player is appealing to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to intervene in the matter so that he can get an American visa to return to his club.
Meanwhile, his club team has written a stern letter to the LFA Sec General. In a note to the Sec General the club threaten to take up the issue with FIFA . If this issue is not resolved , LFA would be in Violation of the FIFA rules. FIFA rules has provisions for players release for national Team commitments. This rule protects both club and country.
DC United might seek Monetary damages at the football highest body.
The general Manager of DC United, Dave Kasper pointed out in his E-mail to the LFA "If his passport is truly missing, then the Liberian Federation needs to make any and all possible arrangements with the US embassy in Monrovia to get a US visa. This includes everything from contacting the embassy to providing transportation.
We are not taking this matter lightly and I expect resolution immediately. I need to be given an update by 5:00 pm today EST (Washington, D.C. time) on this situation. The player needs to return to Washington and needs his passport and visa to be able to do this.
Stay tune to this site for more on this embarrassing development at the Football House.
