dance i say, dance
when the world
forgets yr name
dance
when there's no one to hold u
when not even a scent makes claim
on yr haggard body
dance like bad memories don't exist
lose yrself
become green like tall grass
offer your gracious shelter
to wild flowers
of yellow scarlet indigo purple

when torrents of the rarely voiced
seldom heard, stuffed down
feelings come up from yr throat
like rotten milk
dance
to release the sting of their ache
a simple wave
a stroke, a turn, a hop
sway them hips for no good reason
but to be in charge
of yr own damn movement
dance i say
dance dance dance
