“In Support Of Academic Excellence”

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia recently launched the 2010 Liberia National Spelling Bee Competition in Gbarnga, Bong County. The exercise is aimed at instilling in students at an early stage the capability to spell well and use the English language. We commend the U.S. Embassy for initiating the competition in Liberia which not only promote academic excellence in schools across the country, but stimulate students to become studious. We call on School authorities throughout the country to take advantsage of this opportunity to adequately prepare our young people for outside challenges as well as redeem the nation’s educational sector from low to standard.

it really is.. the one they held last year was really great... see those kids from up country spelling like hell.. one lil girl came second.. she did extremely well..... will find the pictures and post
