There are many times
I long for things I realize
can not be mine,
should not be mine.
I try to convince myself
that what I want is what I need,
regardless of whether or not
it’s good for me.
But only fools believe
there is no price to pay
when your perfect will
we choose to disobey.
I surrender all to thee.
Thy will be done in me.
Thy good and perfect will
be done in me.
Thy will at every waking hour
shall supersede all my desires.
Thy will intended for me
to live each moment righteously.
There is no prize
that I can surmise
to be worth the sacrifice
of your gift of eternal life
I surrender all to thee.
Thy will be done in me
Thy good and perfect will
will be done in me.

Live it



Every word, every sound,
every scent,
every pain,or touch,
a tear, or scream,
for joy, or grieve with silence,
the shiver, or scourge, a sore,
every anguish,
loneliness,plead for death,
or life enternal,
the break of hearts, the groan of sex,
the fury of wrath, or touch
of pleasure,
the high of passion, or stain
of hate,
the sorrow of death, the pain of birth.
The keys to the music of life:
feel it, live it, enjoy it; life is beautiful.

Blink
MHK

In the blink of an eye
a world can change.
In the blink of an eye
it’s oh so strange.

What we thought to be real
can suddenly disappear.
What we thought was so confusing
suddenly becomes clear.

So live your life each and every day
as if there were no tomorrow.
Use laughter as a weapon
to drive away someone’s sorrow.

Make sure that the ones you love
know exactly how you feel.
Do all of these things quickly
because time makes no deals.
And the blink of an eye
leaves little time for goodbye.

Believe

On lonely melancholy days I struggle to believe
that somewhere in the vast expanse of humanity
a lover’s heart could passionately beat for me.

I struggle to embrace the possibility
that adoring eyes could find beauty
amidst my mangled physicality.

I wrestled with God and by His grace I survived.
He then blessed me with the unveiling of my eyes
to His unconditional love, devoid of compromise.

The desires of my heart are part and parcel of His plan.
The thoughts of God however are not always those of man.
Hence my struggle to believe, even He can understand.

Yet I find joy and strength when I hear Him say,
that from the womb I was wonderfully and fearfully made;
especially when I struggle on those lonely melancholy days.
