Dissolution of the Heart

In this once sacred sanctuary, consecrated for you and I
your heart and that of another now intertwine.

You drink no longer from the chalice of the hand bequeathed to you,
but quench your thirst from a cistern flowing with forbidden dew.

In the far most corner of this torrid edifice to which I did recede
I awaited your summoning in sanguine futility.

I heard only the echoes of your mirth as I peered through the corridor,
and I shed a healing tear for the covenant that is no more.

I bid farewell to the ties that bound our hearts in love,
and give mine now the freedom, it has long been bereft of.

Thanks Krazzy. Undertones spiritual. Religion is so negative to me, I don't like being associated with the word sef. Had an interesting conversation wit my pops today along those lines.

Religion tells me that infidelity in marriage is wrong and I believe that. But my pops says that he feels man was not born to be monogamus. He has to be taught not to sleep around, conditioned not to do so. I kinna agree with him. As Chenua Achebe said, "One woman not for one man".
I think man(kind) basiscally is born to seeking satisfaction for himself. Until he realizes that we are more than physical we are spiritual and there is someone greater than ourselves to satisfy. But even when we chose to satisfy ourselves and not God. He still runs behind us and loves us .

But the way religion responds to the individual who has chosen to satisfy him or herself and not God is to shun them, hate them, exclude them etc. That's not spirituality that's religion. YUCK! No

i understand, nica, and this is the source of my discomfort and rebellion when it comes to religion. to me, it is another structure that violates my spirituality and rights to be me.

something i am writing..not thru yet but felt the urge when i saw a guy praying for a group of market women on duport road. my first question was...can't i pray for myself or is the relationship more about the women paying tithe?

Man

So the holy ghost

Works well with the spirit of sinner man

It

Abhors a woman’s blood

But loves her trials

And cents

It loves david

And cain and definitely jesus

But the spirit of a woman

Must take a monthly exit

An exit from non-existent power

An exit from silent decision-making

An exit from the love of God

Hmmm…

A man’s biology is intentional and spotless

Spilling blood sometimes accidentally

Murders and wars

Never a natural flow

Taking quarters out of populations

Their blood and their spirits

Never a natural flow

I am such a believer in praying for ourselves, praying for others, just praying some more. I am such a witness and testimony to it's power. I know that is a call on my life but I am am a warrior that can fall short at times.

Your peom is so tight Krazzy.

"Spilling blood sometimes accidentally......Never a natural flow"

That has been a running theme it seems for me recently. MAN and the various double standards in which he indulges, the lenience's he receives for his natural or un-natural transgressions, the entitlements he feels...all of which woman is precluded from.

Much of that comes from or at least in found in the bible. But much of what Christians abuse to their benefit...interpret to their human not Godly purposes, comes from the old testament. The things clean and unclean, the sins forgivable and unforgivable, mainly depict where man was in thought and actions and perceptions of his God and himself before the new covenant, before the blood that opened our eyes to the sanctity of the blood.

But many of our eyes and hearts are not yet opened to the new thang that God began. We are locked into the laws that we were once under but freed from by the blood, and we try to lock others into it as well. It is so far from what God is about or wants for us.

It is religion...not God.
It is humanity not spirituality.

wow, nica! i could sit at yr feet and listen and listen. this is deep. smile_approve for me, it is an inner struggle, living male dominated spaces-work, home (at least, i call the shots there sometimes), church, the media...it is a struggle.

i had an appointment with the pastor to resolve some family issues...when i thought about patriarchy and its fav tool-the bible...i stamped my decision on my mind...NO! i will find another avenue...
